Chocolate Can Make A Difference

Chocolate is a food item that is loved by many throughout the world. In fact, there are more people that like chocolate than not. But can this beloved substance that brings pleasure, joy, and comfort be used to help others?

Carol Reitz answers this question with a resounding “YES!”

In fact, she bought Sierra Nevada Chocolate in Reno, Nevada nearly six years ago to provide her son who was diagnosed with Autism and intellectual disability with the opportunity to be employed. Little did she know that this would open the door to providing others with disabilities with the same opportunity and bring awareness to the community of the unique skillset that such individuals possess.

Carol stated, “...it’s important to understand that people with disabilities are, although they do have some challenges, they are not limited. They are perfectly capable of performing and working.” She further noted, “...given the supports that they need they can certainly thrive.”
